March 25, 2025 – Nashville, TN – Manuel De Jesus Guirola-Amaya, a 20-year-old citizen of Honduras, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on multiple firearms charges, including possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, possession of a stolen firearm, and stealing firearms from a federal firearms licensee. The charges stem from his involvement in a burglary at Golden Eagle Pawn, a licensed firearms dealer in Dickson, Tennessee.
According to court documents, the burglary occurred on December 5, 2024, when two stolen vehicles arrived at the pawn shop. Surveillance footage revealed that four individuals exited the vehicles and broke into the store, targeting firearms displays. In a brazen move, one of the stolen cars rammed the shop’s front door, allowing the thieves to enter and steal more than 40 firearms. The thieves quickly fled the scene in one of the stolen vehicles.
Later that day, La Vergne Police Department officers stopped a vehicle driven by Guirola-Amaya for expired registration. During a search of the car, officers discovered a backpack in the trunk containing five pistols stolen from Golden Eagle Pawn, still bearing the store's price tags. Additional pistols, marijuana, and a set of digital scales were also found in a second backpack in the car.
Federal agents later executed a search warrant at a residence linked to Guirola-Amaya, where they found a high-capacity magazine, ammunition, and additional price tags matching those from Golden Eagle Pawn. Data extracted from cell phones seized during the investigation provided further evidence tying Guirola-Amaya to the burglary, including photographs, videos of firearms, and location data.
Guirola-Amaya, who entered the U.S. illegally in March 2022 and has no legal status, faces significant penalties if convicted. He could face up to 15 years in federal prison for possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, with additional 10-year sentences for the other charges. He also faces potential fines of up to $250,000 per charge.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. The investigation is being conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the La Vergne Police Department, and the Dickson Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary T. Hinkle is handling the prosecution.
An indictment is an allegation, and Guirola-Amaya is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
